2008

We each painted ourselves without looking at what the other was doing. I think these are two of my favorite possessions - and they probably tell you a lot about our two different personalities and styles!

2010 and 2011

Pixel people style cross stitch portraits (I did the work, though he did have some input to the design). I started with the 2011 portrait, then back tracked to the 2010 which had the unfortunate side effect of cutting out the 'growing out the hair' looks between our wedding (crew cut) and the beginning of 2011 (below his shoulders).

2012

Another pixel people style cross stitch - just waiting for a frame before it joins the other two on the wall. My hair has continued to get shorter, his has continued to get longer. He's requested more accuracy next year, specifically, put him in shorts. We'll see...

2013

I tried the shorts - and it's not too bad. What didn't work was the contrast between the cat stitches and my outfit. Next time I need to make sure my actual thread options match my planned thread options - or just work harder to avoid similar colors together. The date also is just a little too close to our heads. Oh well! My biggest goal is to start earlier next year! I'd like to start before 2014 is over so I can be done long before March or April!
